Hey there! I'm Celena Budd. I am currently a fourth-year Journalism & Media Studies student at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Passionate about feature writing, documentary production, and communication, I am eager to tell local community-driven stories throughout the Greater Boston area.

Growing up in a large and loquacious Italian-American family who treasure their Sunday dinner conversations, I learned from an early age that if you want to be heard, it helps to have a good story, especially one that makes people laugh and smile.

Throughout college, I've dedicated my time to enhancing my video-production, editing, and news writing skills, bringing stories of all kinds from thought to reality. I'm an active member of Northeastern's film club, NUTV, where I assist with our student-run news broadcast and other short-film related projects.

Right now, I am working as an Associate Digital Line Producer at WBZ | CBS News Boston, serving as the President of NUTV, and working on my Senior Capstone film, combining my passion for videography at all levels.

I'm hopeful to use my love of storytelling to give others the voice they lack and the light that they deserve.

Goodbye Matthews Arena: 115 Years of Memories

As the building closes its doors for the final time, hear about the history and the memories that are held within its walls.

The Mobsters Are Coming - NUTV Entertainment First Week Videos 2025

First Week Videos kick off the Entertainment Department each semester and are designed especially for beginners and new members to dive into filmmaking. Members are placed into small groups, given a theme, and challenged to create a short film in just one week, from writing and planning to shooting and editing. It’s a low-pressure, high-energy way to learn the basics, experiment with storytelling, and get real hands-on experience. At the next department meeting, everyone comes together to screen the finished films and celebrate the start of a new creative semester.

This year's theme was BOSTON LORE
Group 4's prompt: The North End Mobsters

Two mobsters Luigi "Big Cheese" Mansion and Joey Gelato run the streets of Boston's North End, only to be confronted by a new detective (who has more layers than one may expect).
